The Future of Water Movement: Inside Solanzo’s Research & Development Center

Every Solanzo product starts life in the same place: our Research & Development Center in Turin. It is where pump designs are tested, torn down and rebuilt before a single unit reaches a customer, and where the questions that shape our catalogue get asked first.

Fluid dynamics, simulated before it is built

Our engineers use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to study water flow inside the impeller, volute and diffuser long before tooling is made. Simulating the hydraulics lets us cut turbulence and friction losses at the design stage, which is how our centrifugal, multistage and self-priming pumps reach efficiency levels approaching 85%. In industrial and municipal duty, where pumps run continuously, a few points of efficiency become real money over a year of operation.

Monitoring and diagnostics

A modern pump is no longer only a mechanical device. Solanzo integrates IoT-based monitoring that gives operators live visibility of flow rate, pressure, motor health and power consumption. Diagnostic software flags developing faults and recommends maintenance before a failure stops the line, which matters most where a pump is hard to reach: industrial plants, irrigation networks and remote stations.

Solar power as a first-class option

As energy costs rise and grids stay unreliable in much of the world, solar has moved from optional to essential. Our PV modules and solar pumping inverters turn sunlight into a dependable power source for pumping, including in off-grid regions, and hybrid solar-electric configurations keep water moving through cloudy spells and after dark.

Materials with a smaller footprint

Recyclable materials, lower-emission production processes and components designed for long service life are now evaluation criteria alongside performance. A pump that lasts twice as long is also the greener pump.

What is next

Current programmes cover high-pressure peripheral pumps, deep-well submersible systems, circulation pumps for commercial pools and advanced multistage booster units. The goal has not changed: water where it is needed, moved efficiently, by equipment that does not ask for attention.
